The System Is At War
Eleven years ago, The Ground War ended with the formation of Apsis as an ostensibly-neutral mediating body to prevent humanity's death by self-inflicted starvation.
Today, Apsis is anything but neutral, blatantly favoring the Jovian Consortium and the Jupiter sphere to a degree that even some Jovians are starting to take issue with, and punishing dissent with more and more draconian cuts to food distribution.
A few months ago, things finally reached a breaking point. Apsis's attempt to make an example of dissenting colonies instead provoked counter-escalation into open armed revolt.
You Are The Resistance
The Rebels are a motley assortment of defectors, pirates, deniable government support, ideologues, and anyone else willing and able to take drastic measures to correct Apsis's lethal overreach. Your current mission is simple: Intercept excess food shipments and redirect them from the Jupiter sphere towards the places where they're most needed.
The question is not whether you should be fighting. The question is what you're willing to let the war cost, and how much you'll compromise to keep up the good fight. Not everyone with you or backing you is doing it for what you see as the right reasons, and staying afloat will require finding ways to navigate that.
Remember: hang together, or hang separately.
